Alijah Arenas was able to walk and speak after a frightening car accident last week launched his Tesla Cybertruck and briefly left it in the induced coma, it was reported.
Alijah, 18, has not broken any bones in the accident according to ESPN, although he inhaled a significant amount of smoke.
Now, the Arenas family told Tmz that he had been able to walk alone and speak with his parents, Laura Govan and the former wizarding goalkeeper Gilbert Arenas.
However, a family representative stressed that Alijah still has a long way to recovery.
“Alijah remains hospitalized under close observation, with additional tests still in progress,” said a press release. “Families continue to request privacy and current prayers during this critical period.”

“Happy to announce that Alijah is much better,” said Johnson, before adding that he had spoken with Arenas and that Alijah “should be released from the hospital very soon.”
Johnson also said that Alijah was walking and spoke and reported that the upward basketball star had had no major injury.
The family said after the accident that good Samaritans had helped Alijah get out of the car on fire, with TMZ, later reporting that the stakeholders arrived at the scene at 4:55 am on Thursday.
The point of sale later reported that the investigators had not seen any sign of intoxication in alijah after being removed from the car on fire.
Investigators would have visited Alijah in the hospital, but they did not get his blood for the tests and Saturday, no criminal investigation was underway.
The police believe that speed was the main factor behind the accident, which did not involve any other vehicle.
In particular, some models of Cybertruck can go from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 3 seconds.
