An American Airlines plane returned to Las Vegas after reporting an engine problem on Wednesday.
The American flight 1665, operating on an Airbus A321, went to Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 8:20 am local time when she had to return to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, according to the preliminary declaration of the Federal Aviation Administration.
No injury has been reported, like Nimmo, a spokesperson for the airport, told CNN.
The flight reported that “smoke from the left engine,” said Nimmo. After landing, “the fire service inspected the engine and the plane rolled to the door under its own power.”
American Airlines said there were 153 passengers on the flight and six crew members. Previously, the airport told CNN that there were 165 passengers.
“The plane drove to the door under its own power and customers were moving normally,” the airline said in a statement. “We appreciate the professionalism of our crew and thank our team who works to bring our customers to their destinations as quickly as possible.”
The American said that the maintenance team found no evidence of fire in the engine and that the plane is put out of service and evaluated.
