A Deported Guatemalan In Mexico, that the administration of President Donald Trump worked to bring back after a court order, landed in the United States on Wednesday, his lawyers confirmed.

The man, identified in court documents by the initials OCG, landed in California via a commercial flight and contacted his legal team by queuing to go through customs and the protection of American border, said Trina Realmuto of the National Immigration Alliance.

He was then placed in police custody by American immigration and the application of customs and was transported to a detention center in Arizona, she told an email at the Associated Press.

The Trump administration declared last month in the judicial files he worked to bring him back after being expelled to Mexico, despite his fears of being injured there, a few days after a Ordained federal judge the administration to facilitate his return.

The United States Ministry of Justice did not immediately respond to a request for comments and AP details.

The man, who is gay, was protected to have returned to his country of origin under the ordinance of an American immigration judge at the time. But the United States put it on a bus and sent it to Mexico instead, a revocation that the American district judge Brian Murphy probably found “lacking in regular procedure”.

Mexico returned him later to Guatemala, where he hid, according to court documents.

In a legal file before his return, government lawyers declared that a so-called parole for parole for public benefits had been approved. The designation allows people who are not eligible to enter the United States to do so temporarily, often for reasons related to the application of the law or to legal proceedings.

Previous legal proceedings had determined that man risked persecution or torture if he had returned to Guatemala. But he was also afraid of returning to Mexico, where he said he was raped and extorted during asylum for the United States, according to court documents.

“As far as we know, it is the first time since January 20 that (the Ministry of Internal Security) has facilitated the return following an order from the district court,” said Realmuto.

The case is part of a discovery chain by the federal courts against recent deportations of the Trump administration. These have included others Deportation to third countries and the erroneous expulsion of Kilmar Abrego GarciaA Salvadoran El who lived in Maryland for about 14 years.

The United States Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration To facilitate the return of Abrego Garcia to the United States from a Salvadorian notorious prison, rejecting the assertion of the White House that he could not recover it after having mistakenly deported him. The White House and the President of El Salvadoran said they were powerless to return it.
