The EU’s main policies: how will they change after the vote? – POLICY

With the European elections just a week away and campaigning in full swing, we focus on the impact of the vote on key EU policies such as health, energy, climate, technology and defence.

Will they be affected by the upheaval of the bloc’s political landscape and the arrival of new MPs and commissioners – or will continuity with the political priorities of the last five years prevail? And what about the money intended to finance extremely expensive new defense ambitions and the green transition? Will the predicted rise of the far right affect this dynamic?

To answer these questions, we offer you a special episode. It’s a conversation that took place recently at an exclusive, invitation-only POLITICO event hosted for our Pro Connect subscribers — usually under Chatham House rules. It is hosted by POLITICO Political Editor Joanna Roberts and guests include: POLITICO Technology and Competition Editor Aoife White, Energy and Climate Editor Cory Bennett, Helen Collis, health editor, and Jan Cienski, our senior policy editor and mobility and defense expert.

The event was part of our POLITICO Pro Connect series “In Conversation With,” which you can learn more about here.

Finally, we will be recording a special live edition of EU Confidential on Sunday June 9 from 8:30 p.m., as the European election results come in. Register here to watch live!
