ESPN withdrawn the curtain on its long -awaited direct streaming service on Tuesday, planning an autumn launch at $ 29.99 per month, or $ 35.99 for a package that will include Disney + and Hulu.
The service, which will be called ESPN, will live inside a completely redesigned ESPN application.
“While we explored the options, we return to our four letters, ESPN,” said Jimmy Pitaro, who runs ESPN, during a press briefing in the New York office in New York on Tuesday morning, supervising the decision of “simple, simple, Claire.”
ESPN also launches a promotional launch price of $ 29.99 for the three -service bundle for the first 12 months. As part of the launch, ESPN refers ESPN + as ESPN Select, and will always cost $ 11.99.
The company also offers an annual plan for $ 299.99 and an option without ADS (for Disney + and Hulu) for $ 44.99 per month.
Pitaro says that subscribers to pay the TV bundles with access to ESPN will have access to the streaming service, reiterating that the company is “largely agnostic”.
“We will finally judge ourselves according to all of the people who subscribe to ESPN,” added Pitaro. “We are very satisfied with the traditional world, the traditional ecosystem. We have done a lot to protect this ecosystem, and we will continue to make the traditional ecosystem a priority. ”
He added that in Disney conversations with its distribution partners, it was “open book” on streaming plans, seeking to ensure transparent access for customer customers.
The company also said that Rich Eisen would return to the company, bringing his Rich Eisen Show to Disney + and ESPN. Beyond that, ESPN confirmed that it would understand the full sequence of live sports and studio shows, the company is also planned to unveil other partners in the coming months.
Other programming news will probably become before the launch of the fall, although Pitaro has tackled a few other priorities for the company: a desire to conclude agreements with leagues for regional sports networks, which the company could offer as a vent and find ways to use AI in the technological battery.
“We focus very on AI and are working with some of our key talents at the moment, making them go on board with this idea that the narration is motivated by AI,” said Pitaro.
