A United Airlines from Houston in New York was evacuated Sunday morning due to flames from an engine, video emissions.
Flight 1382 was about to leave George Bush’s intercontinental airport for Laguardia airport just after 8:30 am when the crew “received an indication on an engine and stopped takeoff while it was still on the track, “said United in a statement.
A video circulating on social networks has shown smoke and flames leaving one of the engines of the plane, an Airbus A319.
The 104 passengers left the plane to the track safely using slides and stairs and were bus to a terminal, the airline said. There was no reported injury.
Passengers were reprogrammed for another flight on Sunday afternoon, said the airline.
Houston’s fire service said he had not responded to the fire. The Federal Aviation Administration said it was investigating.
It was not the only aviation problem to surface on Sunday.
The FAA said that its main system to send real -time security alerts to the pilots was back online after being broken for several hours.
Transport Secretary Sean Duffy said late Saturday that the alert system was experiencing a “temporary breakdown” and that the FAA used a backup system to send security alerts.
The episodes occurred just a few days after a flight of passengers and an army helicopter collided over the Potomac river near Washington, DC, killing the 64 people on the plane and the three members of helicopter crew.
