At the end of the first round of the NFL 2025 draft, the Eagles sent to the Chiefs a choice of fifth round to go from n ° 32 in total to n ° 31 in total. The director general of Eagles, Howie Roseman, said that the player that the selected Eagles were easily worth losing this choice of fifth round to obtain it.
Roseman says that the second of Alabama, Jihaad Campbell, was an elite perspective in the evaluation of the Eagles and that they would have exchanged even higher if the right commercial opportunity had been there.
“We chose Jihaad Campbell, we had a little exchange just to make sure that we could get it. There were a lot of trades in the 1920s and we wanted to make sure that someone had not been in front of us. Excited to have it, really excited to have it. It was not really something that we had planned,” said Roseman. “It was a really easy choice. Really explosive, he can play inside, he can be a rusher on board, really the chance to bring him home to Philly.”
Campbell suffered shoulder surgery in March, but Roseman said the Eagles expect it to go this season, and for years to come.
“It was a top 10 of our board of directors,” said Roseman. “We have no long -term concerns with his health. We consider the project as a long -term opportunity for our team. We have a lot of obvious confidence.
Campbell was born and grew up in the Philadelphia region, and the Eagles were delighted to bring him home.
