The ducks aim to bounce home against the oilers – the County Orange register

With a road trip to forget behind them, the Ducks returned home for the last match of the season with the title champion of the Western Conference Edmonton Oilers on Monday.

Although they beat Edmonton with several goals in two of the three previous meetings, they lost 4-1 in Calgary on Thursday and 6-2 in Vancouver on Saturday. They granted the five fastest goals in the history of the Canucks franchise, which dates back to 1970, in this massacre in the morning.

The Ducks had to change the goal in Calgary after John Gibson suffered an injury and Lukáš Dostál, who cleaned this defeat, made it possible to collapse ducks after reaching a goal and generated several strange rushes.

“It was not Lukáš’s fault. Two (goals) came out of our sticks, they see shots in traffic, and he was our best player all year round,” coach Greg Cronin told journalists. “He didn’t deserve this. It was not on him, so I told them to dig and support the goalkeeper (for a dead time).”

This opening objective belonged to Troy Terry, who became the fifth player in the history of the Ducks franchise to record four consecutive campaigns with 20 or more goals by counting for the first time in seven games. He joined Mason MCTAVISH, LEO Carlsson and Frank Vatrano in the 20 goals club in 2024-25. Terry also met with ice challenges this year because he and the second child in the wife Dani were born prematurely.

“It was a bit of a roller coaster for a year, in many ways for me. I am proud of many things that I have done this year. It was a little difficult to get the latter,” Terry told Victory +.

Terry described the effort in the whole Sunday as giving the appearance that the Ducks were not “ready to play”. They will have to be prepared for the Oilers, but an iteration lightened.

Edmonton was still without MVP of League Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, as well as the best defender Mattias Ekholm and goalkeeper No. 1 Stuart Skinner, among others, in a 3-0 defeat against the Kings on Saturday.

For the Ducks, who were missing not only Gibson but also the veteran defender Jacob Trouba on Saturday, the academic goal of Trevor Zegras in Vancouver pushed his thrust to eight points in as many matches. For Edmonton, former King Viktor Arvidsson has five goals in 10 games, while Zach Hyman’s section in five games in five games has given way to four games without a point
