Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré scored the fastest goal of the Premier League this season after having succeeded in just 10.18 seconds on Saturday, according to the provider of statistics from the Opta League.
Doucouré ran directly on a long authorization from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and took the ball in his stride before shooting in the distant corner to give Everton the advance against Leicester City to Goodison Park.
According to OPTA, he was the oldest Everton ever scored in the Premier League, the fourth fastest goal in the history of competition and the fastest of all time by a home team.
Everton won 4-0 against Leicester, the last in a series of good results since David Moyes returned to the club as a manager.
The record is held by the former Southampton striker, Shane Long, who scored for saints after 7.69 seconds against Watford during the 2018-19 season.
Philip Billing scored after 9.11 seconds for Bournemouth in Arsenal in 2022-23, while Ledley King scored in 9.82 seconds for Tottenham Hotspur in Bradford City in 2000-01.
