Atlanta – The wait was the most difficult – and longest part.
Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman each had three shots, including a Home Run, while the Dodgers waited for a thunderstorm to extend their seven -game victories sequence with a 10-3 victory on the Braves of Atlanta in a soggy match that took three hours to start – and two days to finish.
The planned start time has arrived with a dry field, the tarpaulin rolled and stored. No rain fell. Blooper organized a competition closest to the right field spindle for a gift card of $ 100 and a children’s choir sang the national anthem.
And then everyone sat down and waited.
It took at least 30 minutes before the arrival of the prophesied storm. But when he did, he stayed for more than two hours, with lightning and thunderbolt.
The game did not start before 10:2 p.m. HE, Fox’s national broadcast managed to follow the news at the end of the evening on the East Coast.
The two teams had been warned to “shake” and expect an end of the evening. Thus, no player was seen on the field or in the canoe as the planned start time approached and passed.
After three hours looking at the action of the NBA or NHL qualifiers in the clubhouse, playing games on their phones, eating or nap, the patience of the dodgers was rewarded with another victory.
During their sequence of seven consecutive victories, the Dodgers had it quite easy, by ahead of their opponents (the Pirates of Pittsburgh, Miami Marlins and Braves) 63-25 while beating .345 in a team with 17 doubles, four triple and 12 circuits.
Will Smith began the late Saturday scoring with a double in mind in the second round. He moved third place on a volley and marked on a force, the brave not being transforming a double potential end of the sleeve.
In the third, Ohtani took over, driving a 415 -foot home run on the wall in the central field. Mookie Betts followed with a single and marked on a single RBI single of Teoscar Hernandez.
In the fourth, the start of the brave Spencer Schwellenbach – his name almost as long as the late rain – withdrew the first two strikers but encountered more problems at the top of the order of the Dodgers. Ohtani’s third stroke, a single, started it.
With Ohtani running, Betts pulled a double on the line of the left field to drive it. Freeman ended Schwellenbach’s night with a simple RBI. The left -handed lift Aaron Bummer replaced it and played a dribble in the first line of Teoscar Hernandez which allowed Freeman to mark and put Hernandez in the score position for Smith who led him with only one.
Freeman crowned the evening with a three -point home run in eighth round, pushing the Dodgers scoring into two figures for the third time in the last four games.
The sequence of seven game victories was an example of what the Dodgers offensive looks like when the top of their range works on all cylinders. Ohtani took 11 for 27 with seven additional strokes during the sequence. Betts disappeared 10 for 28. Freeman is 12 years old for 25 and Hernandez 13 for 31. Betts and Freeman led in 10 points each, Hernandez 11.
On Saturday’s offensive muscle gave Roki Sasaki his first MLB victory at a night when he looked less than comfortable to work late. He launched a launcher of 98 MLB-Career throws to spend five rounds while abandoning three points on six strokes, including a solo domicile by Ozzie Albies and a triple RBI by Eli White.
