Publisher’s note: This story contains minor spoilers for the next season of “Emily in Paris”.
“Emily in Paris” seems to say Bye – Or ciao – to an actor who is part of the Netflix series from the start.
Camille Razat, who plays Emily (Lily Collins) Frenemy of the same first name, does not seem to come back for season 5, according to a casting announcement published on Tudum de Netflix Thursday. Razat has been a regular in the series in the past four seasons, playing Gabriel’s romantic partner (Lucas Bravo).
CNN contacted a Netflix representative to comment on the future of Razat with the franchise, as well as representatives of Razat.
Among the actors who come back are Collins, Bravo, Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu and Lucien Laviscount. The new Italian romantic interest of Emily, Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini, will also be back.
Bravo’s return to the series comes after the actor had previously talked about his dissatisfaction with the arc of his character, telling Indiewire in an interview last year that he wondered if he wanted to “be part of season 5.”
Netflix also announced Thursday that the series will start production of season 5 in May, turning to Rome before returning to Paris later this summer.
Season 4 ended with Emily being responsible for opening a Roman branch of the GRAETEA agency.
Of course, his romantic interest Marcello will be part of this story, further complicating his already complex romantic relationship with Gabriel while they work towards his restaurant by winning a Michelin star.
“Marcello is a completely different adventure that we want for Emily because we finally want Emily to have a better work / life balance,” Star Collins told Tudum. “We want Emily to be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her Vacay mode. And it comes at this perfect moment. ”
An release date for season 5 has not yet been announced.
