Trade details: New York Mets acquires Rhp Tyler Rogers of the Giants of San Francisco for Rhp José Buttó, Rhp Blade Tidwell and Drew Gilbert
New York Mets acquired Rhp Ryan Helsley for Inf Jesus Baez, Rhp Frank Elissalt and Rhp Nate Dohm
New York dishes were occupied at this deadline, using some of their second and third level prospects to stimulate their enclosure. Wednesday brought two other trades, one who added Ryan Helsley for a song, and one who added Tyler Rogers for what I think is a better return.
The dishes acquired one of the best readers available in the trade this month and did not give up one of the 10 best prospects in their system. Helsley led the National League in stops last year with 49, which does not matter at all, but I put it in it to see who care. It is a cursor guy / four seams that obtains extremely high puff rates on the rupture ball, more than 50% last year and 45.6% this year, launching the two throws for strikes. It was a little worse this year as it was the previous three, partly because of the typical random, but also because its fast ball is a little more right, although it is always 99-101.
Helsley is a free agent after the season, so the dishes get two months of production and they hope, some work in October. The Enclosure of the Mets took a blow with the injury to Max Kranick, although even before that, they had no one as effective as Helsley in the enclosure of the Lights than more Edwin Díaz, so the agreement is a clear upgrade of their emergency bodies.
I don’t like it for the Cardinals of Saint-Louis, to say it slightly. Yes, Helsley is a rental, so it will not be difficult for them to end up “winning” the agreement in terms of returned value – if one of these guys arrives at the majors, which is not a guarantee, they will probably appear by the war or your measure of choice. Helsley was one of the best lifts on the market, and that cannot have been the best possible return.
The interior field player Jesus Baez is the most talented of the three perspectives that the cardinals have received, easily the first five of the food system just on raw tools, but it is not a very good baseball player. His approach on the plate is simply bad, he does not play hard on each side of the ball, and he presented himself out of shape this season. He has a high bat speed and projects for more power, although he is preparing so late on the plate, I am surprised that he can reach a better speed. He struck .244 / .334 / .406 this year in High was at the age of 20 after spending the first week at Low A, with only a reduction rate of 16.7%.
The right-hander Nate Dohm was popular with the heavy teams of the model in the 2024 draft, because it obtains a huge extension in its delivery and its fast ball has a good “ shape ” with its speed of 92-95 mph. His cursor was more in college, but played a little below it in the ball, always with a strong break down, but not missing bats as much as I expected. He was in good health this year after missing half his spring of recovery with an elbow injury, launching more sleeves in 2025 (62 2/3) than in any calendar year as an university player. He could be a starter, more likely a long relief.
The right-hander Frank Elissalt was the choice of 19th round dishes last year from Nova Southeastern, and the 23-year-old made his strong solid debut against younger strikers in an A, with two relief appearances so far in high delivery, missing from 94-95 with an average or slightly better, with a delivery starter, devoid of order. He is fortunate to go to the big leagues, which is an incredible possibility for an academic senior signed at the end of the project.

The dishes were occupied on Thursday, swinging another agreement for a lifter, acquiring the right-hander underwater Tyler Rogers of the Giants of San Francisco for the Lift José Buttó and the Prospects Drew Gilbert and Blade Tidwell.
Gilbert is a peloton outfall that can play the three places and strikes right -handers fairly well, but he never hit the left -handed left, and I don’t see any real sign that he will begin. He is a good athlete who would be a defender more every day in a corner, and if you marry him with a good companion of peloton on the right, he had probably struck 18 to 22 circuits with a solid OPP in the limited role.
Tidwell was a teasing to return to his college days in Tennessee – he seems to have the size and the arsenal to start, but he has never even snriced average control, not to mention order, and does not really have the kind of feeling of changes in speeds or varying the approach. Everything is power, and this profile could be better suited to relief. However, these two guys will have a major league value, and buttó is more than a simple arm in terms of replacement.
Although there is more of the theoretical increase in what the cardinals have obtained, there is a better chance that the package that the giants have obtained for their rental lift end up better.
