Thomas KotcheffTed’s son, said to Tmz … The filmmaker died peacefully on Friday evening at Joya Hospital in Nuevo Nayarit, Mexico, surrounded by family.
A cause of death has not been disclosed.
The huge Kotcheff curriculum vitae films and television projects extends over decades … but it is undoubtedly better known for “First Blood”, the 1982 Sneaky Stallone Classic that introduced the public to John Rambo.
Of course … Kotcheff knew something or two about the big comedy … which was obvious when he achieved the classic of the 80s, “weekend at Bernie’s,” Starring Andrew McCarthy And Jonathan Silverman.
Other notable films Ted made during a long career in Hollywood … The “Fun With Dick and Jane” Original in 1977 with Jane Funda And George Segal“Unusual Valor” with Gene hackmanAnd the classic professional football comedy “North Dallas Forty” … to name just a few.
He was nominated for a price series throughout his career – in Canada and the United States – and won some.
He was 94 years old.
