The family of the university football player Todric McGee paid tribute to him on Monday evening after having accidentally and fatally fired the weekend.
The Missouri state player McGee, 21, died on Saturday morning, with his school confirming in a statement that the incident occurred a day earlier Friday morning. Police determined that the shooting was accidental.
His relatives gathered on Monday at the plaster stadium in the state of Missouri, and his mother and sister spoke in a heartbreaking way of his death.
“He was still there, and he was just everything. He was a brother, who I needed ”, told his sister, Tahlia Pope, in Ky3.
His mother, Stephanie Pope, added: “He was not depressed, there are no mental problems or something like that that would happen, it’s just a tragic accident, and I just want people to know that you know it’s a good child.”
A teammate who spoke at the event also said that McGee was “more than a teammate. “He was from the family,” said the teammate. “He made our stories laugh, our strength to our team and our light to our lives. His mind will never be forgotten.

McGee had to graduate from the state of Missouri in December with a diploma in psychology and a minor in the science of exercise.
“He wanted to help players and students-athletes with their play days, which is why he told me that he wanted to do sport psychology,” his mother told Ky3.
Senior security was an off -competition player in the team and was a starter in the previous three seasons.
However, his 2024 season was interrupted after suffering an injury at the end of the season in five games.
“On behalf of the University and our entire department, we want to express our condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Todric,” said Missouri State director Patrick Randsdell, in a statement.

McGee’s coach Ryan Beard also shared a declaration on social networks saying: “While I sit and think about the last 24 hours, the thoughts of Todric’s infective smile and competitive spirit are the things I see most.
“There is no greater honor than being called coach and it is something that we do not take lightly.
“You look at young people become men before your eyes and they are part of who you are. You like these guys like your own sons.
