A Delta passenger jet caught fire on the Tarmac at Orlando International Airport on Monday and passengers had to evacuate via emergency slides, the Federal Aviation Authority announced on Monday.
Delta Air Lines flight 1213, bound for Atlanta, pushed from the door for the start around 11:15 a.m. on Monday when an engine caught fire, the FAA said in a statement.
There was no initial injury report.
“The fire was contained and was released,” said a spokesperson for Orlando airport, adding that firefighters are on the scene.
According to Delta, the plane, an Airbus 330, had 282 passengers, 10 on -board agents and two pilots on board. The airline said the crews evacuated the cabin when flames were seen on the exhaust pipe of one of the two main engines of the plane.

The passengers returned to the terminal and Delta said that he would bring additional planes to help them set them up.
“We appreciate the cooperation of our customers and we apologize for the experience,” the airline said in a statement. “Nothing is more important than the security teams and Delta will work to bring our customers to their final destinations as soon as possible.”
The FAA said it would investigate the incident and that Delta said the maintenance teams are examining the plane.
The engine fire marks the last fear of aviation involving the airline in recent months.
