The world of soap remembers Tristan Rogers, the popular Australian actor who played Robert Scorpio on General Hospital.
Rogers, who died on August 15 of cancer at the age of 79, was known as a self-deprecating, beautiful and “spectacular” friend who played on the Drama ABC for more than 40 years.
Actress Emma Samms, who played Holly, on Rogers’ screen, wrote on social networks that she was “incredibly sad to hear the news on Tristan. I loved working with him and that we were both grateful that we had the chance to do this for over 40 years.
Robert and Holly were one of the supercurges of the day.
Other past and present GH Stars like Rick Springfield remembered Rogers like “a full -minded guy from the Grand Southern Land” while Genie Francis called her “very brilliant light”.
Earlier Friday, GH Executive producer Frank Valentini published this declaration: “The whole family of the general hospital has a broken heart to hear about the death of Tristan Rogers. Tristan has captivated our fans for 45 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio). I would like to prolong my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time.
Rogers has played and disabled Scorpion since 1980. It appeared for the last time GH On November 12, when his character left Port Charles.
He won an Emmy by day for his work in the digital drama Studio city.
