EA Hanks is Tom’s only daughter of his previous marriage to Susan.
And while her brothers and sisters caught the cinema bug, she continued a different career path: writing.

According to a description of the publisher Simon & Schuster, the book details EA’s journey while “follows the same route as a road trip for a very long time with her mother in order to better understand the complicated woman who gave her life”.
In a book extracted shared by PeopleEA returns at the time after the separation of her parents in which Susan had custody of herself and Colin while Tom saw the children on weekends. But one day, she continued, her mother moved them from Los Angeles to Sacramento without giving their father a tête-à-tête.
“My father came to pick us up at school and we are not there,” wrote EA. “And it turns out that we haven’t been there for two weeks and he has to find us.”
In the book, EA also shared his experience of life with her mother, the writing of the backyard was “full of dogs S – T”, “the waterproof house of smoke”, and the “refrigerator was naked or full of expired food”.
“One night, his emotional violence has become physical violence,” wrote EA, “and afterwards, I moved to Los Angeles, right in the middle of the seventh year.”
