“The Daily Show” will bring host Jon Stewart to Chicago and Milwaukee for the 2024 Democratic and Republican National Conventions, the show announced this week.
In a social media post Monday, the Comedy Central show confirmed reports that it will be in the two Midwestern cities for the upcoming summer conventions.
Variety, which was first to report the news, said that host Jon Stewart would travel with the series, but that his attendance at both conventions “has not yet been determined.”
Stewart returned to the series part-time earlier this year after a nine-year hiatus. His role is expected to continue through the 2024 election cycle.
“The Daily Show” had been working with a rotating team of hosts since 2022, when Trevor Noah left his hosting position. Noah had replaced Stewart, who was the first to take the show to popular heights during his stint as host starting in 1999.
“The Daily Show” will take place in Milwaukee from July 15-18 and in Chicago from August 19-22.
