The daily routine of the CEO of Airbnb, Brian Chesky, ends at 2:30 am

Managing a business of several billion dollars often requires a lot of early mornings. For the CEO of Airbnb, Brian Chesky, however, a large part of his work is done late at night.

The 43 -year -old man directs his business thanks to a major overhaul that allows users to book services on Airbnb in addition to stays. Chesky spent her Thanksgiving Holidays weekend working on a 10,000-words level to give life to his vision and by revising him to 1,500 words in a few days, he recently told Wired.

There is a good chance that the plan will meet at least in part in the late hours of the night. The billionaire told Wall Street Journal that his creativity was starting to culminate around 10 p.m. and lasts until bedtime, which is generally at 2:30 am

Before that, at 8 p.m., he did the exercise for about 90 minutes.

While CEOs like Tim Cook from Apple and Evan Spiegel from Snap have reserved time in the morning to read and respond to emails, Chesky said he prefers to use SMS and telephone calls since 2020.

Some of his nights include time for “personal things” such as dinner, watch TV or draw. When he is in work mode, however, he checks the employees who are available at night or who make “jobs,” said Chesky in Fortune in March.

Chesky said he could afford to do all the work on certain nights as a single man with his dog at home.

Airbnb refused to immediately comment more on the Chesky routine.

He is not the only CEO to have talked about working her Company late at night. Aaron Levie, co -founder and CEO of the Cloud Services Company Box, said Fast Company in 2013 that he sets around around 3 a.m.. And in an episode of Podcast in 2023, Bill Gates said he believed once “sleep was laziness” before achieving the importance of a good night’s sleep as a man over 40 years old.

As a boss of Airbnb, Chesky said he could largely do his own rules, and an email was the thing he “hated the most” of his work. He also decided not to take meetings before 10 a.m. – about an hour and a half after waking up at 8:30 am, Fortune reported.

“When you are CEO, you can decide when the first meeting of the day is,” Chesky told the newspaper.

While Tim Cook of Apple and other CEOs often enter the office early, Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway, who plans to retire at the end of the year, said he prefers to start his work day later in the morning.

“I will generally sleep eight hours a night,” said Buffett in a 2017 interview with PBS.

“I have no desire to work at 4 am,” he added.
