A young and rising culinary star in southern California died in a bizarre accident in Hawaii, according to the family, who said that the tragedy had occurred when she realized a long -standing dream at the Makaleha Falls waterfall in Kauai.
Gianna Buzzetta, a 26 -year -old executive pastry at the youth and pretty restaurant in Carlsbad, hike on the difficult waterfall path with her boyfriend last week when a disaster struck, according to a statement from her family.
The Kauai fire service responded to a hiker calling that was struck by a tumultural rock while he was standing in the waterfall pool on March 23, the department said in a press release. The hiker, who was found unconscious and bleeding from a head injury, was transported by plane in medical care.
Buzzetta’s parents then flew to Hawaii and were able to say goodbye before his death in the hospital, according to ABC10 reports.
“She had said to her boyfriend, Connor, that day, he had realized his dreams and it was the best day of his life,” said his mother, Caty Buzzetta, at the station. “In an overview of time, she had pure happiness, no one could take this or us.”

In an online fundraising to help cover the medical costs and funeral expenses of Buzzetta, his family described it as determined, tenacious, insightful and kind, with a sense of crazy humor and a contagious laugh.
“As executive pastry chief, his dedication to perfection in artistic talent led him to master his talents to young and pretty in Carlsbad,” wrote the family. “She poured herself, her love and her creativity in everything she brought to the table.”
While working with young and pretty, Buzzetta helped the modern French restaurant to make a Michelin star three times.
“She brought such joy, intensity, passion and love to this restaurant and our team,” said the restaurant on Instagram. “His sudden loss all leaves our hearts broken and in search of means of being useful to his family.”
Young and pretty will organize a special dinner on Monday to honor the memory of the young pastry chef.
The owner of the restaurant John Resnick told Fox5 News that the sudden death of Buzzetta was a devastating blow for all those who knew her and worked with her.
“She was doing a large part of the team. Super creative, super talented, incredibly hardworking,” he told the station. “Our team loved working alongside him.”
In the fundraising position, the Buzzetta family expressed its gratitude for the first speakers in Hawaii and the boyfriend of Buzzetta, Connor Quinton, who, according to them, “gave heroically all the last efforts to save him a great distance to desperately get his help.”
