Dominique McShain, who made the chronicle of his battle against cancer on Tiktok in the past year, has died. She was 21 years old.
Mcshain, who lived in New Zealand, launched his Tiktok account in May 2024 a few weeks after being diagnosed with colorectal cancer incurable at the age of 20. “So Nerous by publishing this, but if you want to follow my trip with colorectal cancer, I will share games of my life here,” she wrote on her initial post.
MCSHAIN’s Tiktok account has nearly 200,000 subscribers. His death was confirmed Wednesday by People magazine.
On Tiktok and Instagram in the past year, McShain has documented his treatment as well as other life events – including his marriage to “Childshood Sweetheart” Sean Suson on July 12, 2024, as well as the couple’s honeymoon trip to Thailand.
On April 6, McShain wrote what she said to be her last article on Instagram after receiving a prognosis of a few days or weeks to live.
“My life can be short, but I really think I have removed it,” she wrote. “I won the lottery with a family who loves me unconditionally, friends who would give me a liver at 10,000% or do everything they could (and will probably argue who can do it), and the sweetest husband, Sean, who was my rock through everything – before and after my diagnosis.”
The MCSHAin post continued: “I checked all the stages of classic adolescents – first a kiss, dramatic ruptures, fees of friendship and sneak me from the holidays (mom, dad … let’s just pretend to never read this). Couple.
In her latest Instagram post, Mcshain said that she often imagined paradise. “Paradise will be a place of peace, where my body is no longer broken or full of cancer. And I’m going to find dear beings, people I know and those I haven’t had the chance to meet yet. Above all, I will be in the presence of Jesus. The idea of being free, at rest and in good health has so much comfort again. ”
She concluded: “Although it hurts you to leave you all behind, know that I will finally be out of pain, and I will be at peace. Please never forget that I will always love you as much and I will be forever grateful to the role that each of you has played in my life. ”
His final video on Tiktok was published on April 11, with a legend who said: “Sorry for lack of update, I am alive but very yellow and venous and swollen on my belly, which made me win 7 kg, which is a lot for my proportions.”
