Comedian Paul Rodriguez said the police had violated his civil rights at the front arrested for possession of drugs on Friday in California. Burbank police said Rodriguez was a passenger in a vehicle that had been arrested for “code violations” around 7:30 p.m. “The narcotics were located” and Rodriguez, 70, was reserved for possession of possession and released, said the police sergeant. Stephen Turner, by the Los Angeles Times. But this story leaves aside some important details, according to Rodriguez. He told TMZ that he was sleeping in the passenger seat when he was awakened by an officer slapped him.
Rodriguez suggests that the arrest was motivated racial, saying that the “Caucasian” officer was “power journey”. He claims that the driver of the vehicle admitted that the drug was his, but he was still arrested. “The judgment and treatment constituted a violation of his civil rights,” said Rodriguez lawyer Bobby Samini, in a statement, by TMZ. “The police said that the driver of the vehicle was in possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Rodriguez had no substance controlled in his possession, nor under the influence of a controlled substance.” Samini adds: “We are impatient to establish the innocence of Mr. Rodriguez in court.” (More stories by Paul Rodriguez.)
