The “condensed” program for Grammy Week 2025 announced by the Recording Academy

The Recording Academy has released a revised schedule of Grammy Week 2025 events, which focuses the organization’s efforts on “the events that can have the most impact” in the wake of the multiple devastating wildfires that continue to burn in Los Angeles.

As previously announced, the 67th annual Grammy Awards broadcast on CBS will continue on February 2, but will have a “renewed sense of purpose: to raise additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and to honor courage and dedication of the first responders who risked their lives to protect ours,” according to the press release.

Since launching the Los Angeles wildfire relief effort last week to support music professionals, the Recording Academy and MusiCares have raised and pledged more than $2 million in emergency aid to affected musicians by forest fires.

In order to generate maximum support not only for members of the music community but also for all those affected by the crisis in Los Angeles and the city in general, the announcement continues, many of the events that traditionally make up Grammy Week have been canceled or reused.

Nearly all non-Academy Grammy Week events have been canceled or postponed, including traditional parties hosted by major music companies. It’s become an unfortunately familiar situation, as the 2021 and 2022 Grammys have also been significantly revised, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We understand how devastating the last week has been for this city and its residents,” said Harvey Mason Jr, CEO of the Recording Academy and MusiCares. “This is our home, it is home to thousands of music professionals, and many of us have been negatively impacted. So, after careful consideration and multiple assurances from state and local elected leaders , public safety agencies and with the support of our incredible artist community, we have decided to continue televising the Grammys and select events Grammy Week 2025 will not only be about honoring music, it will also be about. use the power of music to help rebuild, uplift and support those in need.

The revised schedule of Grammy Week events, each of which will have a fundraising element, is as follows:

Friday 31/01

· MusiCares Persons of the Year charity gala honoring the Grateful Dead

Saturday 1/2

· Special Merit Awards Ceremony and Grammy Nominee Reception
