The thermometer fell to -8.4°C in Berné (56), -7.6°C in Brennilis (29), -7.2°C in Gourin (56), -6.5°C in Kerpert ( 22) and Landujan (35). According to La Chaîne Météo, “we have to go back to the winter of 2017-2018 to find such low temperatures in the north-west of France”.
Sunday is shaping up to be one of the coldest days of the year nationally. In Brittany, the weather will be unstable and the sky changing. The maximums will not exceed 3 to 8° C. The morning frosts, marked, will give way to a sharp cold near the coasts and to sleet likely to cause a little snow in the afternoon in the interior, according to Weather Britain. “From 1 to 3 cm” are expected, locally, from Brittany to Hauts-de-France”, specifies La Chaîne Météo.
A chilly start to the week
On the roads, the worst is undoubtedly to come with, Monday morning, freezing temperatures and severe frost associated with freezing fog. “Caution on the roads to work”, warns Météo-Bretagne. On Tuesday, freezing rain and snowfall are also to be feared with, again, tricky traffic conditions. The winter offensive has only just begun.
