A parapentre in China which intended to simply test certain equipment ended up involuntarily reaching the barely survivable summits last week.
Peng Yujiang, a 55 -year -old parapentre in the province of Gansu, flew over on Saturday 8,600 meters above sea level – more than 28,200 feet, or about 5.3 miles – in the Qilian mountain chain of North -West China of Qinghai and the provinces of Gansu, according to the state media.
The episode was captured on a camera attached to its equipment and showed the painful conditions it has known. Mr. Peng has reached an almost equal level with the summit and the flight paths of the Mount Everest. His face and body are covered with frost and ice in the video, which was initially published on social networks and later shared by the Chinese state media.
According to local media, Mr. Peng was testing equipment as part of “ground formation” – a step that Paragliders say that it is essential to the management of safe launch – at an altitude of 3,000 meters above sea level, or about 10,000 feet. But a strong wind suddenly lifted him in the sky. He could not control the glider or landing when the project became stronger and it was fired above the clouds.
