Former master champion Angel Cabrera is expected to return to Augusta this week after her stay in prison.
Cabrera, who won the green jacket in 2009, played Masters 20 times but has not participated in the tournament since 2019.
He spent two and a half years behind bars after being found guilty of assault, flight and illegal intimidation against old friends in 2021.
The 55 -year -old man could not play last year due to visa problems and therefore returns this week to a lot of controversy after six years.
In an exclusive interview with Mail Sport, Cabrera described how “lack of freedom” was “really difficult” – but online golf fans had little sympathy.
“Will ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) will delete Angel Cabrera from the course to Augusta? I guess not ” wrote a golf fan on X.

On Monday, Cabrera won her first tournament since her stay in the first temple of James Hardie Football James Football in Florida.
The Argentinian was released from prison in August 2023 after having served consecutive sorrows for domestic violence and assault and other accusations after ex-wife Silva Rivadero and two of his ex-girlfriends filed charges against him.
In his exclusive conversation with Riath Al-Samarrai of Mail Sport, Cabrera said: “At the moment, I’m fine. But I regret everything I did wrongly in my past and I am also frustrated to have threw very, very important years in my life. I made mistakes.
“This is one of the worst things that can happen to a human being, not being able to have freedom.”
As a winner of Masters 2009, he is eligible to participate in the major field, as is the right of each past champion.

He was found guilty of assault against Torres Mana while they were together from 2016 to 2018 and began to serve a two -year sentence immediately after the verdict.
In November 2022, he was sentenced to two years and an additional four months for the assault of his other former partner, Escudero. He served the two sentences simultaneously.
