The Brisbane Broncos are reported to dismiss the striker of the veteran Martin Taupau after being transported to the club leadership group for approving a scathing social media position targeting head coach Michael Maguire.
News Corp reports indicate that he should leave the club immediately, both parties accepting a split next week.
Taupau ended up in hot water after having liked an Instagram video of the former teammate of the Tigers Elijah Taylor, who accused Maguire of imposing training regimes so hard that they left the players physically exhausted and emotionally exhausted.
The position triggered the indignation inside Red Hill, senior players and coaches considering Taupau’s action as a direct challenge in the club’s cultural direction.

“I had experiences with him (Maguire) in the past and he is a caregiver. He is passionate, he wants to win and we all move forward together.
Carrigan, a key figure in the leadership group, confirmed that he had spoken to Taupau personally.
“He published a statement, he made a mistake,” Carrigan at Courier-Mail told.
“As a teammate, I will support it, but we all know where we want to go as a club.”
Taupau only played one match this season, leaving the bench in a defeat against the Roosters.
The initiates say that he had trouble with the requirements of the brutal pre-season of Maguire, almost collapsing during the racing exercises at 30 degrees.
