London – The British Parliament will be recalled on Saturday to discuss British Steel because the future of its Hauts Fourneaux Scutantre is at stake.
The deputies will meet at 11 am – interrupting their recess of Easter – to discuss “legislative proposals to guarantee the safeguard of British steel operation”, according to a press release published by the House of Commons, Friday afternoon.
There have been increasing speculations that the government ministers could nationalize the SI, according to the decision of the owner Jingye to trigger an official consultation to close his SCUTHORPE site last month – a decision that puts 3,000 jobs at stake.
