Florida State was at the top of four points with 14.2 seconds playing at the Boston College and lost 77-76 on Saturday.
The Eagles strengthened the ball and ran the length of the ground for a lay-up with 7.3 seconds to reduce the advance to two to 76-74. Florida State, with a dead time remaining, obtained the ball. And this is where things were horrible.
An incoming pass to Jamir Watkins flew over his head and was covered by Chas Kelley III of Boston College. Without a defender of Florida’s state around him, Kelley launched a 3 -point with six seconds to play. And he did it.
After having used this waiting period, Florida State could not obtain a winning shot and the Eagles held for a victory from a point.
In addition to spitting an advance of four points with a little more than 14 seconds to leave, Florida State led by eight with less than a minute before the Boston College reduced the advance to five seconds to leave and led by seven with 37 seconds to leave. But the Eagles outstripped the 12-4 Seminoles in the last 37 seconds of the match for their second victory of the season.
Florida State fell at a total of 13-9 in ACC with the loss, while the Boston College is now 10-11 in total and 2-8 in ACC.
