The biggest regret of Bill Gates: let an old love escape

When Bill Gates called his divorce from Melinda French Gates the greatest regret in his life, he explained that when they met, in 1987, he was not yet the Mega success that he is today.

“There is a certain wonder to spend your whole adult life with a single person because of the memories and the depth of the things you have done and to have children together,” said Gates, the Co -MICROSOFT billionaire depth, in London Times a recent interview.

“When Melinda and I met, I was quite successful but not ridiculously successful-which came during the period when we were together,” he continued. “So she saw me through much.”

The melancholy of Mr. Gates about an ex who has been by his side for decades highlights the bonus that the rich and the famous have long placed on the relations which started before the arrival of wealth and renown. For many people who succeed, these relationships – whether romantic or platonic – are precisely sacred because of their roots in shared experiences, the difficulties, the victories and the love which prior to their changing fortune. A proven obligation, after all, is one of the few luxuries that money cannot buy.

It is a classic trap of the new rich (or new famous) to abandon the partner of day 1 – the one that held you next to it or for the worst and when you had very little of your name – for someone who is more Young or more attractive. Although this is not exactly the case for Mr. Gates, who had already raised a lot of money when he met Ms. French Gates, he was certainly not as powerful when he was when they were are officially separated, in 2021.

Above all, he did not launch his own divorce either: Ms. French Gates would have been unhappy with the way her husband had treated allegations of sexual harassment not disclosed before her money manager and she was not ‘Like with his relationship with the financial financier and the sex offender convicted Jeffrey Epstein.
