Portola Valley – Hunting for a woman who disappeared in the open space reserve of Windy Hill more than two weeks ago will continue this weekend with nearly 100 members of research and rescue staff to join the effort, according to the authorities.
Margaret “Elaine” McKinley, 79, from Redwood City, was missing on May 1 after hiking along the lost path.
On Saturday and Sunday, the teams “will focus on the intensive re-search” in the area where McKinley has disappeared, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff.
More than 600 research and rescue staff have been looking for McKinley since the beginning of the month.
“Despite exhaustive efforts and the use of all available resources, there was no confirmed observation in Elaine,” the sheriff’s office said on a press release on Friday.
Last week, research went to a “limited continuous phase”, which means that it will continue until McKinley is found, but with reduced resources, according to the authorities.
McKinley, who suffers from dementia, was seen for the last time wearing a red jacket and black pants.
The sheriff’s office requests anyone with information on where McKinley is to call 911.
