The American security company hires special forces to manage the Gaza control point

A small American security company hires nearly 100 veterans of the American special forces to help manage a checkpoint in Gaza during the break of Israel-Hamas, according to a company spokesperson and an email from Recruitment seen by Reuters, presenting armed American entrepreneurs at the heart of one of the most violent conflict areas in the world.

UG SOLUTIONS – A low -profile company founded in 2023 and based in Davidson, in North Carolina – offers a daily rate from $ 1,100 with an advance of $ 10,000 for the veterans it hires, said the ‘e-mail.

They will provide the control point in a key intersection inside Gaza, said the spokesperson, who confirmed the authenticity of the email.

Some people have been recruited and are already at the checkpoint, said the spokesperson, speaking on condition of anonymity. He did not say how many entrepreneurs were already in Gaza.

The role of UG Solutions in the cease-fire agreement has been reported, but the email revealed previously unknown details, including the aim of recruiting 96 veterans exclusively with the history of American special forces, the remuneration and types of weapons they will transport.

Reuters reported on January 7 that Emirati officials had suggested the use of private entrepreneurs as part of a post-war peacekeeping force in Gaza, and that the idea had worried Western countries.

The deployment of American armed entrepreneurs in Gaza, where Hamas remains a powerful force after 14 months of war, is unprecedented and poses the risk that the Americans can be trained in the fighting while the administration of President Donald Trump seeks to prevent Hamas-Israel’s conflict from rekindling.

Among the risks faced by Americans are shooting with Islamist activists or angry Palestinians with Washington support for Israeli military actions in Gaza.

“Of course, there is a threat to which they will face,” said Avi Melamed, a former Israeli intelligence official.

The document said that entrepreneurs will be armed with M4 rifles, which are used by Israeli and American soldiers, and Glock Pistols.

The rules of engagement governing when the staff of UG solutions can open fire has been finalized, said the spokesperson, but he refused to disclose them.

“We have the right to defend ourselves,” he said. He refused to discuss how the company won the contract.

The role of Egypt

The Israeli Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Sharren Haskel told journalists on Tuesday, without naming UG solutions or the United States, that Israel demanded that the agreement included the use of a private security company, By working with “an Egyptian security company or forces” to maintain security and humanitarian aid flows to Gaza.

But, she said, it was to see if the arrangement “really works”.

Previous cycles of ceasefire negotiations were retained by an Israeli request to provide the control point with its own troops.

Gaza witnesses have described in recent days in Egyptian security personnel at the checkpoint using scanners to search for weapons hidden in vehicles.

An Egyptian source said that the Egyptians from the control point have been special forces formed in recent months, especially on counter-terrorism.

A Palestinian civil servant close to talks confirmed that American entrepreneurs would also be at the control point, at the intersection of the netzarim corridor dividing the north and south of Gaza and rue Salah al-Din, which separates the east and the west of the enclave.

However, the official said that, under the terms of the agreement, American entrepreneurs would be deployed far from the residents passing and should not deal with the local population.

The email UG Solutions said that its main mission was “the internal management of vehicle control points and vehicle inspection”.

“We only focus on vehicles,” said the spokesperson.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s office refused to provide other comments on the security agreements. The United States Department of State, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt and Hamas did not immediately respond to requests for comments.

The American use of private security companies has been among the past has led to a disaster. In 2007, the entrepreneurs of the company Blackwater now disappeared killed 14 civilians on the Al Nisour place in Baghdad, triggering a diplomatic crisis and scandalous the Iraqis. Four blackwater staff were sentenced to an American courtyard and forgiven by Trump during his first mandate.

The insurgents of Faltujah, Iraq, killed in 2004 four Americans working for Blackwater and hung two of their bodies to a bridge, causing a massive American military response.

The hiring of UG solutions will work with SAFE Reach solutions based in the United States, which makes logistics and planning, according to the spokesperson and another familiar source with the contract.

Each rental will be provided with $ 500,000 in deceased insurance and accidental dismemberment, and the daily rate for former doctors of the American special forces reaches $ 1,250, according to the email.

A separate source familiar with the agreement said that Israel and the unnamed “Arab countries” that have worked on the agreement finance the consortium. The American government had no direct involvement in the decision to include a security company in the cease-fire agreement or in the award of the contract, said the source.

“ Narrative of victory ”

Ahmed Fuad Alkhatib, a scholarship holder of the Atlantic Council’s thinking group who was born in Gaza, minimized the danger for the Americans because their role in the return of displaced Palestinian civilians reinforces the claim of victory by Hamas.

“Even Hamas, despite all its rhetoric and horrible actions, understands that it is this very American presence … which feeds its story of victory,” he said.

Gaza was devastated by Israeli bombings for 15 months of war which began after the assault on October 7, 2023 in Israel which killed 1,200 people and took 250 others hostage, according to an Israeli toll.

Nearly 47,000 Palestinians, mainly civilians, died in the fighting.

January 19 marked the start of a 60-day ceasefire: the first phase of the agreement mediated by Egypt and Qatar with American support. Since then, hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians have spread on foot and in vehicles through the control point to the north towards Gaza City, a large part of the rubble by Israeli bombardments.

Qui-G?

Several people in the private security industry told Reuters that they had not heard of UG solutions.

The sole manager of the company listed in Virginia State Incorporation Records is Jameson Govani, who did not respond to telephone messages. He is described as a veteran of American special forces.

A commercial source of American private security informed of the UG solutions contract, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that it seemed dangerous to deploy Americans in Gaza and that it was afraid that the fight could clear “very quickly “.

We did not know what would happen if the Americans were attacked or captured, or which law of the nation would governed the actions of the entrepreneur.

The email does not say who would save them. The spokesperson UG said that the document was exceeded and that rapid reaction forces would be available. He did not provide more details.

“We are well equipped to protect our own security,” he said.
