The passengers of an American Airlines in the United States in Italy were forced to take a bus to their final destination after their plane was forced to land at 140 miles because it was too large to land at the original destination.
The flight 780 of American Airlines left Philadelphia International Airport at 7:42 p.m. Local time on Monday and was to land in Naples, Italy in Italy Fligh.
However, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner plane was off the coast of Italy, halfway between Rome and Naples, when it turned suddenly to the Tyrrhenian sea and turned to the Italian capital.
American Airlines told CBS News that the plane had been forced to turn to Rome Fiumicino airport “due to operational limitations.”
Historical flight data shows that American Airlines generally steals a Boeing 787-8 in Naples, about 20 feet shorter than the 787-9.

After the flight landed in Rome, the passengers were bus to Naples – a trip of about 3 hours.
“We apologize to their disruption of their trip,” American Airlines told CBS News in a statement.
