Los Angeles prosecutors refused to deposit official accusations against the former “NYPD Blue” actor Kim Delaney and her husband after being accused of domestic violence.
The couple was arrested on Saturday morning after the deputies of the Los Angeles sheriff department were called home in the coastal community of Marina Del Rey to investigate a possible domestic disruption, said sheriff officials.
Delayry, 65, was sentenced to suspicion of criminal assault and detained without surety until Tuesday morning, the maximum without formal accusations and the day she was to appear before the court for indictment, according to the authorities and the detainees’ files.
James Morgan, 54, was sentenced to suspicion of domestic violence, but was quickly released, said Lieutenant Jose Salgado of the Lieutenant-Sherif of the County of Los Angeles. His deposit was listed at $ 20,000.
The two were to make initial appearances in court on Tuesday.
“Our office refused to file a complaint against Kim Delaney and James Morgan due to insufficient evidence,” said spokesman for the Los Angeles County Prosecutor’s Office, Pamela J. Johnson, by email.
It was not clear if Delaney and Morgan had lawyers for the case. Delaney representatives did not respond to requests for comments.
According to detainees, Morgan was arrested on Saturday at 9:45 a.m., with the arrest of Delaney after about 30 minutes later.
On his Instagram page, Delaney described the relationship as loving, publishing a photo with Morgan alongside the words “pure love”. She marked the couple’s second wedding anniversary on the social media platform, where she expressed love for her husband and said that she was “your wife for life”.
Delaney appeared in shows and mini-series widely visualized over the years, but it was his role as DET. Diane Russell on the “NYPD Blue” police drama which earned her fame as well as an Emmy Award for the exceptional support actress in a dramatic series in 1997.
