IA dissident: Meredith Whittaker
As an influential AI ethics researcher at Google, Meredith Whittaker has urged that the company does more on AI potential damage. Now, as head of the non -profit Foundation behind the signal encrypted messaging application and AI advisor to AI Now Institute, she remains a powerful voice calling Big Tech to account and counter part of the IA media threshing.
Whittaker left Google in 2019 after managing a series of debraying to protest against misconduct in the workplace. It has since warned that existing AI systems may include biased data sets that strengthen racial and gender biases – a problem that requires immediate action by regulators.
She also campaigned against attempts to break encryption and warned the market power of a handful of American companies on AI. Until recently, she even had a role of advisers as an advisory advisers as a principal councilor on the Lina Khan AI, who chaired the American Federal Commerce Commission from 2021 to 2025.
AI president: Emmanuel Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron may find it difficult to form a government, but he has not abandoned his ambition to be the brain behind the strategy of France -and Europe -.
As a host of the AI action summit in Paris, the French president worked hard to push European countries to adopt a more aggressive innovation strategy that could help to draw investments. It has also intensified talks with French and European sales and commercial researchers to show what France can do for AI.
Macron’s interest in AI is not new. In 2018, he launched a national AI strategy, entitled “IA for Humanity”, aimed at positioning France as a world leader and finance the research, innovation and training of AI.
This ambition has now changed equipment, especially since Washington announced the investment of hundreds of billions of dollars in AI infrastructure. Macron pushes hard to help French companies and especially the great hope of the country, Mistral AI, on which Paris counts to compete with Openai.
At the same time, Macron also wants to make Paris a platform for global discussions on universal access to AI, while Europe is trying to find a space in a technological race dominated by the United States and China. Here, he tried to draw new allies, even holding his hand to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to coward the top of the Paris AI.
