Playing video games is better than going outside. You know it. I know it. Steam knows it. The ubiquitous PC gaming platform is opening up to indoor living this July with a summer sale on nearly every type of video game, from artsy indies to jaw-dropping AAA releases.

I dug through virtual bargain bins like a backpacker in a record store and compiled this list of the ten best games to download during Steam’s Summer Sale.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the perfect game to buy on sale. It got mixed reviews when it came out, so you may have been hesitant to pick it up, but at $11.99, it’s worth the risk. For what it’s worth, I love it Valhalla. You become a whore VikingThis is everything I ever wanted from a video game and from life.

Elden Ring

While it’s not as big a discount as you’ll find, $42 is still a great deal, especially since Elden Ring is one of the best video games ever made. Plus, if you like it, you can pick it up The Shadow of the Erdtree, Elden RingThe new DLC of.

American Truck Simulator

Why would someone choose to play as a long-haul truck driver over a Space Marine, a wizard or a Viking? Because awesomeI can’t exactly describe why hauling a load of ball bearings around Albuquerque is a more fun gaming experience than blasting orcs with fireballs, but the game’s “overwhelmingly positive” user reviews on Steam are proof of that, and American Truck simulatorL is on sale for a paltry two dollars, so even the poor can afford to try it.

The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Complete edition

It’s been out for nine years, so it’s hard to believe that anyone interested in RPGs hasn’t played it already. The Witcher 3, but if you are out there, this is a great opportunity to see why this game is included in every internet list of “Best Games of All Time”. If you haven’t played the The Witcher 3 DLC, the Wild Hunt The edition has it all for just $12.49.

Tekken 8

Sometimes you just want to kick someone’s ass, but do it Tekken 8 so you’ll only get punches in your virtual face. The regular edition of this fighting game is on sale for $39.99: 43% off. The Ultimate Edition is reduced to $76.99 instead of $109.99.

Half-Life: Alyx

Although many virtual reality games are still essentially technology demonstrations, Half-Life: Alyx is a comprehensive and incredibly impressive game that remains among the best VR titles available even four years after its launch. Plus, it’s 66% off its list price of $59.99.

Far Cry 5

This open-world chaos simulator Far Cry 5 puts you in the middle of a Montana county that’s been overrun by religious extremists and says, “Blow ’em all up!” It’s only $6, 90 percent off the list price.

Civilization VI

I almost feel bad recommending Civilization VI. The turn-based strategy game of world conquest is so addictive that it’s like saying, “Just take this pill; drugs are fun!” Unlike drugs, Civ 6 is really cheap: only $2.99, a 95% discount.

Forza Horizon 5

Even if you are not a car enthusiast, you will like Forza Horizon 5. The open-world racing game features all sorts of cars, from Ford Fiestas to Bugatti Divos, and the driving physics are spot on. All the different editions of Forza 5 are half price.

Celestial

I have a confession to make: I have never played Celestial. Everyone, critics and gamers alike, loves this indie platformer about anxiety, depression, and climbing a mountain, but I felt like it was a mission. Now that it’s only $1.99, the price of an iPhone game, I’m like, “Okay, you win. I’ll play Celestial” . ”
