A Texas woman allegedly dragged a child into a bathroom, shoved his face in a toilet and forced him to drink water, police say.
Claudia Velediaz-Bonifazi was arrested Wednesday after the boy in her care informed school officials about the abuse, Woodway police said.
The boy showed up at school sobbing and told his teachers and counselor that he was “dragged to the bathroom by his hair and his head was forced into the toilet where he was forced to drink toilet water,” police said in a statement.
He also said she pulled out parts of his hair in the process.
Woodway Police and Child Protective Services investigated the situation further and learned that the young boy had been the victim of several other “violent incidents.”
The abuse included “punching, hitting with various objects and not being fed for long periods of time,” police said.
The child was placed with a relative for safety reasons, police said. His relationship with Velediaz-Bonifazi is unclear, but police said he was in her custody.
The Post has contacted the Woodway Police Department for additional information.
