A meeting on a track in a dallas suburban high school was the site of a tragedy after a student was stabbed to death.
The incident occurred Wednesday morning at the Kuykendall stadium on Wednesday morning in the city of Frisco, Texas, during the 11-5-5A district championship meeting of the university’s interscolastic league.
According to Frisco police, an altercation between two students led to a beady of the other.
Police have a suspect, Karmelo Anthony, 17, in detention and accused him of murder. Bond has not yet been defined.
Student Anthony stabbed, Austin Metcalf, 17, was transported urgently to a neighboring hospital in an unknown state.
A few hours later, the police announced that Metcalf died of his injuries.

After the incident, the competition was suspended, the stadium was “immediately obtained” and the students were returned to their original campuses, according to the officials of Frisco ISD.
“Uil is deeply saddened by the tragic incident which took place during the district meeting of the district 11-5A on April 2 at the Kuykendall stadium in Frisco Isd,” the UIL said in a statement.
“Uil staff are in communication with district officials to provide support and assistance during this period. Our thoughts go to those who have been affected.
According to WFAA, Metcalf was a student at the Memorial High School in Frisco, who was one of the seven schools in competition in the event.
Police did not say what led to the altercation, but said that there was no threat to the public. An investigation is underway.
According to an account on X, formerly Twitter, which seems to have belonged to Metcalf, he hoped to go to university to play football.
The biography of the account lists 6 feet high and 220 pounds as second. It is also listed as having a GPA of 3.97.
