Texas n ° 6 won the number 12 Texas Tech by the final score of 10-4 to emerge victorious in the Women’s College World Series 2025.
The Longhorns took an early advance and never looked back Friday evening at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, winning the 2-1 series and picking up a championship of Women College World Series for the first time.
After Texas Tech was unable to get on the board at the top of the first round, Texas quickly jumped opposite by scoring five points at the bottom of the opening frame.
The Red Raiders launcher, Nijaree Canady, was stellar throughout the tournament, but she had trouble after starting the competition on Friday with a removal in the stick. A pair of singles from RBI from Reese Atwood and Katie Stewart gave the longhorns a start of 2-0.
Canady initially seemed that she could get out of the round without allowing other damage, but a three-point home run from Leighann Goode put Texas 5-0.
Five points were the most That Canady allowed any round throughout her career because she was replaced by Junior Chloé Riassetto to start the second round.
Stewart recorded another RBI single during the third round to extend the Texas’s advance to 6-0 until the team has another offensive explosion in the fourth.
After a pair of singles in the inner field and a double loaded the basics, Mia Scott, senior of Longhorns, struck a big slam imposing at Dead Center who put an end to any return in the hope that Texas Tech had again.
The Scott circuit was particularly impressive since it would have Played with a torn ACL.
She was one of the four members of the Longhorns programming to finish with several strokes in match 3.
Teagan Kavan took the mound for Texas, accumulating 110 throws in seven work sleeves. Kavan granted four points, although everyone was not won.
She was named the most remarkable player in the Women’s College World Series.
Texas Tech tried to rally with three points in the fifth round and one at the top of the seventh, but a Groundst ground by Lauren Allred sealed the defeat.
Friday’s unbalanced result was surprising, because each of the first two games in the series was decided by a round.
In the end, Texas won equipment.
