Tesla’s actions (TSLA) dropped on Wednesday after deliveries in the first quarter of the electric vehicle were lower than analysts’ expectations.
Tesla declared having delivered 336,681 vehicles and produced 362,615 during the quarter, against 386,810 deliveries and 433,371 vehicles produced a year ago. Production has dropped from year to year while some Tesla facilities moved to the production of the updated model, which was published earlier this year, the company said.
Analysts expected 393,000 deliveries and 462,160 vehicles produced, according to Visible Alpha. The estimate of deliveries had dropped by 14% since Tesla declared results of the fourth quarter in January.
EV Maker’s shares fell more than 4% shortly after opening the market on Wednesday. They are up 50% compared to the same period a year ago, but lost almost half of their value since it reached a record of almost $ 480 in December.
The last quarter, deliveries and Tesla production lacked estimates, the manufacturer of electric vehicles reporting its first annual drop in deliveries. Later in January, Tesla said she expected deliveries to come back to growth in 2025.
Tesla’s stock has dropped this year to fear that the involvement of the CEO Elon Musk in the Trump administration has a negative impact on the company. Some of the biggest Tesla bulls in Wall Street have called Musk to divide its time more uniformly between its government work and its companies, including Tesla.
Tesla dealers have been the subject of demonstrations and vandalism in recent weeks, with reports indicating that sales and registrations have dropped in China and a number of countries across Europe during the first months of 2025.
Tesla said he would publish her first quarter results after the bell on April 22.
