While the new Tesla Model arrived there in a local exhibition hall for demonstration discs, I quickly signed up to compare the model inherited to what the company hopes to be an even better version of its best -selling vehicle. Leaving a Demo Drive Legacy Model only two months ago, because I planned to buy one, I had a good understanding of what was improved and what was not.
In short, I am really happy not to have pressed the trigger of the Y model in February. The new Tesla Model is really a very improved version of what was already an excellent vehicle, and although I always think that Cybertruck is the best vehicle in the range of Tesla, the new `juniper ” is up there.
The first thing I really took note was the exterior massively changed. The addition of the light bar on the front and the shiny rear light bar was two modernized conceptions that Tesla chose to implement on this vehicle.
Although I have never hated the appearance of the inherited Y model, it’s just better. It is more modern, slightly cleaner and is really starting to clear the vibrations of the cybercab, which Tesla unveiled in October 2024.
Overall, the vehicle, in terms of dimensions, is not incredibly different from the past version. The look is really what has changed here, and in my opinion, it’s for the best.
The adjustment and finish were really great. A quick inspection has shown that the car had been very well gathered, and the sales advisor, who recently made a trip to Gigafactory Texas and saw the new line of model Y, said Tesla really paid attention to the state of these vehicles when they left the factory.
Tesla had very distinct attention on the elimination of excessive panels of panels and aesthetic problems before leaving the factory.
In the past, I hesitated to buy Teslas because, for $ 35,000 +, I had the impression that certain interior parts were cheap. In particular, the cursors above storage and cup holders and the central console were things that I felt should be of better quality.
It was a great improvement. All the doors and lids of compartments felt much better in terms of overall quality. Nothing had a creaky or cheap sensation, and paying $ 41,000 for a car (after a tax credit) should be delivered with much better quality materials.
The steering wheel had a good shape, and the lower part of its dishes was not crazy, but it was good.
My favorite information treat concerned the ambient lighting. Tesla did not make it run as far on the doors of the new model y as in the highlands of model 3. In addition, many owners have apparently complained about the reflection of ambient lighting on the windshield when they were driving.
Tesla corrected this by covering the ambient lighting and pushing it in a corner designed for lights specifically. There is no longer a reflection of the ambient lighting on the windshield, so it is important to note that Tesla did not take the interior of the Highlands and put it just inside the new Y.
By far, my favorite fixes were improvements in the suspension. Although the overall interior and look -of -look corrections are excellent, the sensation when driving the car is really more important.
The 3 Highland Model had a very great improvement compared to its past iteration, because I was able to test it with an animated driving on the roads in Pennsylvania. I felt the same thing about the new Y model. You can really feel a large part of the things Tesla has done to make driving more comfortable in the new version of the crossover.
The journey is solid but not rigid. He manages things like bumps, hen nests and other inconsistencies. It was never uncomfortable; It seemed very sporty and responsive and embraced the tight corners at higher speeds.
The vehicle was very spacious and I had a lot of leg space on the back. I also liked the sensation of the driver’s seat, and I felt like I was sitting in the cockpit of something more sporty than a crossover. It was really very nice and the seats seemed to kiss you.
Regarding the rear, it was spacious and comfortable, and I would not worry to be stuck there during a road trip from 6 to 7 hours.
The rear seats are heated, but the middle seat is not. The rear screen also gives occupants at the back of the car something to do, and Tesla even allowed several Bluetooth headsets the possibility of connecting to this central screen.
Small improvements in the new model 3 are what really makes the model there an excellent car. The ambient lighting corrected above is something that is great.
Another thing I really liked is that the trunk confidentiality coverage now has a dedicated storage area, which is seen in indentations here:
The trunk lid can be folded and removed and placed in these indentations, as opposed to sit on the floor of the trunk, potentially folded and damaged by everything you have there.
It was something that was a nice touch.
Overall, I was very impressed by the new Y model. It is undoubtedly better than what Tesla offered before, and this car was the best -selling vehicle in the world for two consecutive years. I would not be surprised to see many model owners inherited there exchange their cars for this new version.
