Tesla has a nightmare in Europe – and now it has been overwhelmed by two Chinese rivals in the United Kingdom.
The giant EV sold only 512 cars in Great Britain last month, against more than 1,300 in April 2024 while the counterpoup against Elon Musk continues to strike sales in Europe.
Tela’s count is well behind Arch Rival byd, which sold 2,511 cars in the United Kingdom in April, an increase of 650%.
Disastrous performance also meant that it was also left in the dust by the less known Chinese brands Jaecoo and Omoda.
They both belong to the Chinese conglomerate Chery and sold 1,053 and 910 vehicles respectively in April, according to data from the SMMT trade organization, despite the launch only in the United Kingdom last year.
Jaecoo and Omoda offer a mixture of electric vehicles, hybrids and gas cars in the United Kingdom, unlike Tesla, which only sells electric vehicles.
