Terrion Arnold clears concussion protocol after leaving Lions-Giants joint practice

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell said Tuesday that cornerback Terrion Arnold has cleared concussion protocol and will practice Tuesday. Arnold left practice early during a joint practice with the New York Giants on Monday and was being evaluated for a concussion.

During a joint practice with the New York Giants, Arnold clashed with Giants tackle Andrew Thomas. He was later seen leaving the field with trainers before the end of practice. No further updates have been provided by the team.

Arnold, the 2024 first-round pick with the 24th overall pick, was drafted to help shore up one of the NFL’s worst pass defenses. Detroit ranked 27th in passing yards allowed per game as the team’s defensive secondary was a glaring weakness. Since his arrival, Arnold has been a mainstay in the starting lineup opposite Carlton Davis III. He’s expected to start when the Lions open the season against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1.
