Terri Irwin not interested in dating 17 years after Steve’s death
Terri Irwin still holds the torch for her late husband.
Steve Irwin’s widow explained to Us Weekly on Thursday why she doesn’t want to date anyone 17 years after the crocodile hunter’s death.
“While there are many wonderful men in the world, can you see another Steve Irwin?” she asked. “I just can’t. I’d say, “I love that you’re a librarian and that the Dewey Decimal System is cool, but I have to go jump a crocodile.” ” … Forget that.”
Terri, 59, said she previously had her “happily ever after” while she was married to Steve from June 1992 to September 2006.
The couple welcomed daughter Bindi, now 25, and son Robert, now 20, during their time together.
“I’ve had the best marriage in the world for 14 years and I’m very comfortable with the person I see in the mirror,” the Australia Zoo owner told the magazine. “I’m very lucky. … So I can be alone now.
Terri clarified that although she is “lonely for Steve”, she does not consider herself a “lonely person” in need of a partner.
Since the environmentalist’s death at the age of 44, Terri has become a grandmother.
Bindi and her husband, Chandler Powell, welcomed a baby girl named Grace in March 2021, exactly one year after they got married.
Before giving birth, the then-pregnant star gushed on “Entertainment Tonight” about the “good, good grandfather” her late father would have been to her little one.
“I don’t think we would have ever seen our daughter,” Bindi said in February 2021. “He would have just taken her to the zoo, and that would have been perfect.
“But it’s so nice that we’re going to be able to introduce him to his grandfather through all the documentaries,” she continued. “It’s really special.”
Bindi has since expressed the unlikelihood of her daughter’s healthy arrival, revealing her battle with endometriosis and subsequent surgery to have 37 lesions removed in March 2023.
As for Robert, the wildlife photographer last dated the niece of late actor Heath Ledger.
He and Rorie Buckey reunited in 2022, announcing their breakup in a joint statement on Instagram Story in February.
