Tennessee climbs recruiting rankings

After adding Atlanta top 100 receiver Westlake Travis Smith SATURDAY, Tennessee moved up three spots to reach 13th in On3’s Industrial Team Recruiting Rankings.

The volunteers jumped Texas, Auburn And Missouri with Smith’s commitment.

Smith is the nation’s 81st-best prospect, 12th-best receiver and 11th-best recruit in Georgia for the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Rankings — a weighted average using the four major recruiting media companies.

He is ranked No. 59 overall 2025 out of 300.

“It’s one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made,” Smith told On3. “Ultimately, I felt like Tennessee was the best fit for what I was looking for. From offensive productivity to the opportunity to shine on offense to the scheme and just being in the best position to succeed.”

“Georgia and Alabama were great, and it was a close race. Both schools have great programs with coaches I really like, but I decided Tennessee was the best choice for me.”

Looking at Tennessee’s 2025 class, all eyes are on Nashville’s four-star quarterback Brentwood George MacIntyre. IOL four stars in the state Nic Moore committed on June 20 and was followed by On3 4-star DL Charles House June 22 and now elite IOL Douglas Utu June 24.

Memphis four-star receiver Sheffield Jackson Radarist is one of the latest additions to the class and a top 100 prospect in On3.

On March 28, four-star Nashville defensive lineman Ensworth Ethan Utley joined the group, choosing the Vols over Michigan, Texas and others. Elkhart (Ind.) Central, four-star EDGE commit Mariyon dye is one of the highest-rated prospects in the class and a top-40 recruit by On3.
