Teenager killed in shark attack in Australia

A teenager was killed in a shark attack Thursday, officials said.

Police in South Australia responded to reports of a shark attack around 1:30 p.m. local time, authorities said. The teenager was fatally attacked near Ethel Beach in Innes National Park, about 180 miles west of Adelaide.

“Unfortunately, the body of a teenager was found in the water,” police said.

Although police have not yet identified the teenager, he is believed to be a 14-year-old boy who was vacationing in the area with his family, 7NEWS reported. The teenager was in the water surfing with his father when he was attacked.
