Gout Gout has become world renowned at just 16 years old when he broke the record for the legendary Usain Bolt for the same age in December 2024. He also set a new Australian national record, obtaining 20.04 seconds in the 200m race at the Australian school championships in Brisbane.
The best 200m from Bolt at 16 was 20.13 seconds, recorded during an event in Barbados in 2003.
The Record of Gout made him a star overnight, which earned him a sponsorship agreement with Adidas. However, a new Sprint feeling emerged – Lachlan Kennedy from Queensland, who won the drop in a 200m race over the weekend.
In the final of the Peter Norman Memorial 200m on Saturday, Kennedy left the drop drop behind to win the gold medal after having recorded a better personal time of 20.26 seconds.
Kennedy was delighted with his efforts, but he did not forget to apologize to Gout Gout, who was considered the favorite.
“I just wanted to give them (the crowd) a good race. It would not be fun if (the drop) just destroyed everyone. I’m sorry if it was spoiling it, but what a great race, you can’t be angry with that,” Kennedy said.

The teenager Gout Gout also managed the issue in a responsible manner because he said that not winning the race would only make it hungry.
“People will say that winning feels good, second feels bad and that the third feels even worse. So coming to second is something you can experience. And this definitely puts fuel on my fire and it lights up. ”
Gout Gout also recently talked about comparisons with Bolt, declaring that this is not the right time to talk about it.
“I don’t like to talk about it. To be honest, I am simple. I am always a child, always in high school, so you cannot expect too much from me,” he said in an interview with 7:30 am.
