Even taking 10 minutes to reconnect, “you can get the same thing you get from a date,” Maci insisted. “So it’s about small victories, small windows that go very, very far.”
And no matter what happens, they always remember that they share a dugout, so to speak.
“We have this thing that we say, it’s like we’re rooting for the home team,” Maci said. “So even sometimes when we feel like we’re opponents, we’re not, we support the home team.”
And every time they feel that carpooling, homework supervision and the million other things it takes to run a family successfully, they reach a boiling point, Taylor agreed, “I think we’re doing good work by stepping back and being like, ‘Hey, we’re on the same team.'”
