A football club published a statement after the death of his 15-year-old who drowned in a lake on Friday afternoon.
The emergency teams were called to Beckenham Place Park in south-eastern London shortly after 3 p.m. Friday to search for Izaiah Smith, 15, who had disappeared in the lake.
The crews found the body of Izaiah in the water about eight hours later at 10:42 p.m., after which the teenager was transported to hospital but then declared dead.
It is understood that Smith had celebrated the start of the Easter holidays when he had trouble swimming, with fears that he had the shock of cold water.
Going to social networks Sunday afternoon, Dorking Wanderers published a statement in tribute to the young person.
He said: “We are absolutely devastated to learn the death of one of our young footballers – Izaiah Smith. It is of course impossible to find the words to explain what it is a tragedy.

“Izaiah was an extremely popular and talented young man and we will sorely miss everything that knew him.
“The club will provide support for all those involved in any way possible.
“In the meantime, all of our thoughts are with family, friends and teammates at the moment incredibly difficult.”
