Team USA continues its preparation for a fifth consecutive gold medal in men’s basketball ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
After four exhibition wins this summer, the team will play their final warm-up match against Germany on Monday at the O2 Arena in London before flying to France.
On Saturday, the United States beat South Sudan in a thriller (101-100) thanks to a layup by LeBron James with eight seconds left. The U.S. team had already beaten Serbia and Australia in a pair of games played in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Those results followed a victory against Canada in Las Vegas on July 10.
At the Olympics, the U.S. team will play three Group C matches in Lille: Sunday (Serbia), July 31 (South Sudan) and August 3 (Puerto Rico). The round of 16 will then move to Paris with the quarterfinals (August 6), semifinals (August 8) and gold medal match (August 10) at the Accor Arena.
